Weather & Best Time
Egypt is sunny for much of the year, but each season changes the rhythm of a trip. Here is how to choose the timing that fits your route.
High Season (Winter)
October to April
The most popular time to visit. Days are sunny and pleasantly warm, while nights can be crisp. Ideal for exploring ancient monuments and bustling city streets.
15°C - 25°C
Shoulder Season (Spring & Fall)
May & September
A brief but beautiful transition. The weather is warmer, but the crowds are thinner. Great for those who enjoy the heat without the peak summer intensity.
25°C - 35°C
Low Season (Summer)
June to August
The heat is at its peak, especially in Upper Egypt (Luxor & Aswan). It can still work for Red Sea diving and quieter resort stays if you plan around the midday sun.
35°C - 45°C
Regional Nuances
Cairo & The Nile Delta
Best in Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November).
Luxor & Aswan (Upper Egypt)
The sun is more intense here. Winter is the most comfortable season; summer requires early starts, shade, and careful pacing.
The Red Sea Coast
A year-round destination. Even in winter, the water remains warm enough for swimming and diving.
